ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Claiming its largest margin of victory over Macalester College in the 39-game all-time history between the teams, the Augsburg University women's soccer team scored a 5-0 triumph in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg led for all but the opening 106 seconds of play, as Ashley St. Aubin (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) struck quickly with her 12th goal of the season, assisted by Gabriela Encarnacion (SR, Bel Air, Md./Bel Air HS).
• Two Auggie defenders combined for a goal in the 42nd minute, as Jen Masello (SO, Darien, Ill./Downers Grove Catholic HS) scored from Molly Conners (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS).
• The Auggies erupted with three goals in a 14-minute span in the second half, starting with Megan Howard's (FY, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) first collegiate goal, a 42nd-minute marker from Callie Athey (JR, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) and Conners. For Conners, a transfer from Division I Northern Iowa, it marked her first multi-assist game as an Auggie.
Ana Ortiz (SO, Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus Catholic HS) gave the Auggies a 4-0 lead with an unassisted goal in the 60th minute, and Natalee Lessert (JR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) capped the scoring with a goal from Rachel Montgomery (FY, Cottage Grove, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) in the 62nd minute. The assist marked Montgomery's first collegiate point.
• Goalkeepers Emily Chapman (SR, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) and Payton Gutenberg (FY, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) combined for Augsburg's sixth shutout victory of the season, with Chapman recording seven saves in 77 minutes, and Gutenberg not facing a shot on-goal in the final 13 minutes of play.
