MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Behind the strong efforts of
Kayla Gjerde (SO, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) and
Jade Fullerton (SO, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS), the No. 16-ranked Augsburg University volleyball team earned a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match victory over Hamline University on Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall. Gjerde had a match-best 15 kills, while Fullerton led the Auggies with eight blocks (two solo).Â

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
• After dropping a close first set to the Pipers 25-27, the Auggies found their rhythm and won the next three sets. Augsburg had 14 team blocks, its second-best block effort of the season. Six different Auggies collected double-digit digs in the victory. Â
• On top of her 15 kills, Gjerde added 14 digs for her ninth kill-dig double-double of the season. She also had four block assists and a service ace.Â
Megan Quam (SR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) added 12 kills -- hitting at a .375 clip -- and three block assists.Â
• Fullerton finished with eight kills to her eight blocks, her second-best block total of the season.
Corrina Evans (JR, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) collected nine kills, six block assists, five digs and four assists.Â

Jade Boysen (SO, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) finished with six kills, three digs and three block assists.Â
