Auggies blitz Blue Devils in second period

MINNEAPOLIS -- Scoring three goals in the second period to break open a tied game, the No. 4-ranked Augsburg University men's hockey team remained unbeaten with a 5-1 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stout in a nonconference contest on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After giving up the opening goal in the first period, the Auggies scored five unanswered goals to claim their fifth victory of the season.
• Austin Martinsen (JR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) scored a goal with an assist, giving him a team-high five goals and eight points on the year. He has recorded at least one point in each of Augsburg's five games. Martinsen leads the MIAC in goals scored and is tied for the league lead in total points.
• Gavin Holland (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) claimed his first collegiate multi-goal game, scoring the final two goals of the contest for the Auggies.
• Michael Redmon (FY, West Bloomfield, Mich./Centennial (Tenn.) HS) extended his goal scoring streak to three games with a goal in the second period, and Charlie Parker (JR, Verona, Wis./Verona HS) scored his first goal of the season in the third period.
• Goalie Jack Robbel (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) improved to 3-0-0 on the season, stopping 12 o the 13 shots he faced in 48 minutes of work. Jon Albers (JR, Blaine, Minn./Centennial HS) played the final 12 minutes of the game, recording three saves in his second collegiate appearance in goal.
• Augsburg outshot Hamline by a 34-16 margin in the game, including a 27-9 margin in the final two periods.
