ST. PETER, Minn. -- Outshooting its foes by a 44-23 margin and scoring two second-period power-play goals, the No. 7-ranked Augsburg University men's hockey team claimed a 3-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory at Gustavus Adolphus College on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg took a 1-0 lead on a scramble following a rebound off an initial shot by
Austin Dollimer (SO, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS).
Charlie Parker (JR, Verona, Wis./Verona HS) slammed home the loose puck for his second goal of the season, with
Fritz Belisle (FY, Red Wing, Minn./Roseville Area HS) also getting an assist.
• Augsburg scored twice on a five-minute major penalty early in the second period.
Michael Redmon (FY, West Bloomfield, Mich./Centennial (Tenn.) HS) snapped a wrister from the right faceoff circle to the top left corner of the net for his fourth goal of the season, assisted by
Erik Palmqvist (FY, Linkoping, Sweden/Anderstorpsgymnasiet) and
John O'Connor (SR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) at the 1:21 mark.
• Forty seconds later,
Grant Reichenbacher (FY, Verona, Wis./Madison Edgewood HS) pounced on a loose puck in front for his second goal of the season, following a rebound off a Palmqvist shot from the left circle.
• Augsburg dominated throughout the game, claiming shot advantages of 13-7, 18-7 and 13-9 in each period.
Daniil Gerasimov (JR, Moscow, Russia/State School 1944) had 22 saves in goal for the Auggies to score the win.

• Augsburg, ranked No. 7 in the latest USCHO.com Division III national poll, has now outscored its opponents by a 24-9 margin through the season's first seven games. Augsburg's 24 goals are second-most
among MIACÂ teams in overall statistics, while its nine goals allowed are fewest among MIAC teams.
• Augsburg's power play is connecting at a MIAC-high 26.1-percent (6-of-23) rate. The Auggies are also tied for the best penalty-kill percentage in the MIAC, allowing just three power-play goals in 25 opportunities (88.0 percent).
