MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The No. 17-ranked Augsburg University volleyball team swept Gustavus Adolphus College in three sets in the quarterfinal round of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference postseason playoffs on Tuesday night at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg used a well-balanced team effort to defeat Gustavus in three straight sets. Augsburg out-hit Gustavus .193 to .103, had eight team blocks to the Gusties' three, and earned six service aces while having no service reception errors in the match.
• Leading the Auggie offense was
Megan Quam (SR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS), who finished with eight kills, hitting at a .368 clip.
Jade Fullerton (SO, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) also had an impressive night, earning six kills on 13 attempts with only one error, for a .385 attack percentage. Fullerton added four blocks (2 solo).

Corrina Evans (JR, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) and
Jade Boysen (SO, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) collected six kills each for the Auggies. Evans added four block assists, two digs and an ace.

Maddie Nierengarten (JR, Foley, Minn./Princeton HS) finished with five kills, five digs, three block assists and a service ace. In her first match back after an injury,
Kayla Gjerde (SO, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) had five kills, five digs and a block assist.

Izzy Barr (SO, River Falls, Wis./River Falls HS) and
Lexie Lang (SO, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) split the setting duties for Augsburg and each finished with 14 assists. Lang added seven digs, two kills and a service ace, while Barr had four digs and an ace.

Angel Khang (FY, North St. Paul, Minn./North St. Paul HS) led the Auggies with 11 digs, while libero
Jaelin Rios (SR, Champlin Park, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) finished with nine digs.
FOR THE FOES
• Kate Holtan finished with a match-best 14 kills, nine digs and two block assists for the Gusties.
• Hailey Embacher had 13 digs for the Gusties, while Mitaya Johnson earned 15 assists.
