HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing 1-0 entering the second period, Holland gained the puck at his own blue line, worked through a pair of Ole defenders who tried to jam him against the boards at the Ole blue line, walked in and snapped a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle to tie the game at the 33-second mark.
• Holland gave the Auggies a 2-0 lead at the 3:54 mark of the second period.
Austin Martinsen (JR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) twisted a pass toÂ
Gunnar Goodmanson (JR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS), who slid the puck forward to Holland on his right side. Holland blasted a one-timer for his fifth goal and second multi-goal game of the season.
• Goodmanson gave the Auggies an insurance goal at the 12:32 mark of the third period, his second shorthanded goal of the season. After a breakaway attempt by Goodmanson was denied by the St. Olaf goalkeeper early in the Ole power play, he got a second opportunity, stealing a pass at his own blue line, sprinting up the ice and sliding a backhand shot to the net for his fifth goal of the season.
• Augsburg dominated the shots-on-goal totals, claiming a 47-18 advantage -- 14-6 in the first period, 13-7 in the second period and 20-5 in the third period.
•
Erik Palmqvist (FY, Linkoping, Sweden/Anderstorpsgymnasiet) had seven shots for the Auggies, while Holland had six shots and
