2018 GOOGLE CLOUD ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT (CoSIDA) - MEN'S BASKETBALL

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University men's basketball guard
Booker Coplin (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS)Â was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 6 Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced this week.
A biopsychology major with a 3.733 grade-point average, Coplin was one of just five players selected to the academic elite squad, made up of top NCAA Division III men's basketball student-athletes from schools in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.
In his second year at Augsburg after playing his first season at Wisconsin-River Falls, Coplin has established himself as one of the top men's basketball players in all of NCAA Division III. He currently
leads the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in scoring (27.3 points per-game), rebounding (9.4 per-game), steals (60), free throws (151) and free-throw percentage (.899). Playing in a league-high 36.0 minutes per-game, he stands fourth in assists (93), fourth in three-pointers (69), seventh in blocked shots (26), ninth in field-goal percentage (.518) and 10th in three-point field-goal percentage (.434).
His 27.3 points per-game average currently puts him second
among all NCAA Division III players in scoring average nationally. while he ranks second in total points, third in field goals made and field goal attempts, 15th in free throws made and 16th in free-throw attempts. This season, he has scored in double figures in all 27 games, and has 47 double-digit scoring games in his 56-game Auggie career, including 16 career double-doubles (11 this season).
Earlier this year, he reached the 1,000-point scoring plateau for both his overall career and Augsburg career. Including his first year at UW-River Falls (84 games, 64 starts), he has scored 1,205 points (14.3 per-game). In his 56-game Auggie career (54 starts), he now stands 14th in school history with 1,121 points, with his 20.0 Auggie career scoring average now fourth-best in school history. He has 494 career rebounds (437 at Augsburg), 135 steals (114 at Augsburg), 212 assists (181 at Augsburg), 41 blocked shots (36 at Augsburg) and 124 three-pointers (110 at Augsburg).
He has helped to lead Augsburg to back-to-back berths in the MIAC playoff championship game, including this season's title game at Saint John's on Saturday (2/23) at 7 p.m. Last year, the Auggies won the conference playoff title for the first time ever and advanced to the NCAA Division III national tournament for the fourth time in school history, finishing 21-8 overall. The Google Cloud Academic All-District team is part of theÂ
Google Cloud Academic All-America program, as selected by CoSIDA. Top student-athletes from NCAA Division III programs in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan are eligible for inclusion on the District 6 team, one of eight Division III districts nationwide. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.30 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. College sports information directors in the district vote for the teams.

CoSIDA's Academic All-District/Academic All-America programs.
This is the eighth year of the expanded Google Cloud Academic All-America program, with separate teams comprising NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, along with a College Division team of NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools. First-team Google Cloud Academic All-District members advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, voted on by a committee of CoSIDA members.Â
The Division III Google Cloud Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Google Cloud Division III Academic All-America teams program.
