Auggie lacrosse opens 2019 with loss to Sewanee

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's lacrosse team opened its 2019 campaign with a 15-2 loss to the University of the South (Sewanee) in a nonconference contest on Saturday evening at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sewanee outshot Augsburg by a 31-9 margin in the game and built a 10-1 halftime lead. Sewanee has outscored its opponents by a 70-14 margin in its first four games.
• The Tigers scored the first nine goals of the game before Augsburg scored, as Allie Tuccitto (SO, Rosemount, Minn./Eastview HS) scored an unassisted goal with 7:25 left in the first half.
Christina Nelson (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) scored an unassisted goal with nine seconds left in the game for the Auggies. Nelson had four ground balls and two draw controls in the game.
Demey Everett (JR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had five ground balls and a caused turnover, while Hannah Valen (JR, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS)) had two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
