MINNEAPOLIS --
Tamira McLemore (JR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) became just the seventh player in Augsburg University women's basketball history to score 1,000 career points, as the Auggies posted a 81-58 victory over Carleton College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Monday evening at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg started the game on a 10-0 run and appeared to have the momentum, but had to continue to hold off a hot-shooting Carleton squad all game. The big storyline in the contest was the Augsburg defense. The Auggies forced 27 Carleton turnovers, while only committing nine, and posted a 35-4 advantage in points off-turnovers. Augsburg was also able to pull down 15 offensive boards and recorded a 20-5 advantage in second-chance points.
• McLemore led all players with a game-high 19 points, bringing her career total to 1,008. She is just the second student-athlete in Augsburg women's basketball history to reach the 1,000-point plateau during her junior season. She added five rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists in the victory. McLemore leads Augsburg with a 15.2 points per-game scoring average,
which ranks sixth in the MIAC in overall statistics.

Arianna Jones (JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS) shot 6-of-10 from the field, scoring 15 points, while adding a pair of steals.
Kaezha Wubben (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS) added 11 points for the Auggies and picked up a game-high four steals.
• Also finishing in double figures for Augsburg was
Camryn Speese (JR, Bloomington, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) and
Selena Lor (FY, Winona, Minn./Winona HS), who finished with 10 points apiece. Speese was 5-of-8 from the floor and led all players with a game-high seven rebounds. Lor was 3-for-5 from the field and added three assists.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 43.5 percent (30-of-69) from the field, while the Knights shot an impressive 52.3 percent (23-of-44) from the floor. The teams posted 32 boards apiece, while Augsburg claimed a 16-0 advantage in fast break points.
FOR THE FOES
• Carleton finished with three players in double figures, led by Anna Hughes and Annabella Jensen, who finished with 11 points apiece.
• Samantha Cooke added 10 points and six rebounds for the Knights.
