TUCSON, Ariz. -- Led by a 4-for-8, six-RBI day by
Jacquline Nichols (SR, Royalton, Minn./Royalton HS), the Augsburg University softball team split a pair of contests against the University of Texas-Dallas and Centre College at the Tucson Invitational Games on Monday at Lincoln Park.

UT-DALLAS HIGHLIGHTS
• A close game broke open for UT-Dallas in the middle innings, scoring four unearned runs in the third and fourth innings, then putting up five runs in the fifth, with 10 batters coming to the plate.
• Sam Anderson (SR, Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) drove in a run on a sacrifice fly in the third inning for the Auggies,
Mackenzie Evenson (JR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) singled and scored following an error in the fourth, and a pair of errors brought home Anderson and Nichols in the fifth.
• Nichols had two hits, including a double, and
Nell Gehrke (JR, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS) also had two hits.
Anesia King (JR, Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) also hit a double for the Auggies.
• Anderson struck out seven while walking one in a complete-game pitching effort for Augsburg.
CENTRE HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg pounded a season-high 16 hits against Centre, scoring in each inning but the third in a game that ended in the sixth inning due to the NCAA eight-run rule.
• Nichols drove in the first six runs of the game for Augsburg, hitting a three-run home run in the first inning, then clearing the bases on a three-run double in the second.
• In the fourth, Anderson hit a run-scoring single and
Hollywood Hermanson (JR, Dover, Minn./Dover-Eyota HS) drove in two runs on a single. King hit an RBI single and Anderson hit a two-run single in the fifth, and a run-scoring double by
Sarah Garcia (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) ended the game for the Auggies.

Elly Strunk (SO, Blooming Prairie, Minn./Blooming Prairie HS) struck out three while walking one to pick up the pitching win for the Auggies.
• Anderson had three hits, while King, Gehrke, Nichols, Garcia and
Sarah Larson (FY, Robbinsdale, Minn./Cooper HS) had two hits each. King and Anderson scored three runs each.
