TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Augsburg University baseball team claimed a doubleheader split with Concordia University-Wisconsin at the Tucson Invitational Games on Monday, scoring a 6-5 win in the opener while falling 6-3 in the nightcap.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg jumped out to a 4-0 lead after four innings, but the Falcons tied the game at 4-4 after six innings. Augsburg grabbed the lead back in the top of the seventh.
Kyle Hoppe (SO, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) led off the inning with a single, and a triple byÂ
Mike Brookshaw (SR, Prescott, Wis./Prescott HS) brought him around to score.
Joe Rydel (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) followed up with a run-scoring double to plate Brookshaw. Concordia loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, but a lineout to right field, caught by a sliding Hoppe, ended the game.

Walker Rogers (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) drove in two runs on a single in the second inning, and another run came home following a throwing error. In the fourth, Rogers hit a double and came around to score on a single by
Chris Steinhoff (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Como Park HS).
• Augsburg received a strong pitching effort from starter
Charles Linder (SR, Harris, Minn./North Branch HS), who struck out three while walking two in five innings of work, while allowing just one earned run. Another strong effort came from
Darius Uditsky (SO, St. Louis Park, Minn./Holy Family HS), who pitched two innings of two-run relief to score the win.
• Brookshaw and Rogers had two hits each for the Auggies, who had nine hits in the game.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• A four-run fifth inning, with nine batters coming to the plate, proved to be the difference for Concordia-Wisconsin in the second game.

Troy Ouellette (JR, Robbinsdale, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) drove in
Cole Paulson (JR, Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake HS) on a single in the second inning.
• In the fifth, a single byÂ
Clayton Bodine (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) plated Ouellette, and in the sixth,
Donovan Tomony JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) hit a double and came around to score on a fielder's choice by Ouellette.
• Tomony and Bodine had two hits each for Augsburg in the second game.
• Two Auggie pitchers saw their first collegiate action, with starter
Dylan Irving (FY, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) striking out three while walking five in 4.2 innings of work, and
Austin Jerylo (FY, Mahtomedi, Minn./Mahtomedi HS) pitching an inning of one-run relief.
James Lee (SO, West St. Paul, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) also pitched in relief for the Auggies, allowing a run.
FOR THE FOES
• Austen Dart went 5-for-8 in the doubleheader with a double for Concordia-Wisconsin, driving in two runs and scoring three times. Joseph Zywiciel had three hits, two runs and an RBI in the doubleheader.
