TUCSON, Ariz. -- With eight different players collecting hits and nine different players scoring runs, the Augsburg University baseball team claimed an impressive 14-1 victory over Grinnell College on Wednesday afternoon at the Tucson Invitational Games.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg claimed 10 hits, including a double and two triples, and scored 14 runs in the victory, in a scheduled nine-inning game shortened to seven innings due to the tournament's 10-run rule. Augsburg's 14 runs are its most scored in a game so far this season.
• The Auggies also benefitted by a complete-game pitching gem by
Jamie Kaye (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS), who struck out nine while allowing just one walk and seven hits.
• RBI singles by
Troy Ouellette (JR, Robbinsdale, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) andÂ
Mike Brookshaw (SR, Prescott, Wis./Prescott HS), along with a hit batter with the bases loaded, gave the Auggies a 3-0 lead in the second inning.
• Four runs came across in the third. Dan Phyle (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Rosemount HS) led off the frame with a triple, and scored on a single byÂ
Walker Rogers (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS). Rogers scored on an RBI groundout by Ouellette, and Brookshaw drove in two runs on a single.
• An RBI single by
Chris Steinhoff (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Como Park HS) gave the Auggies a run in the fourth inning.
Clayton Bodine (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) drove in a pair of runs on a triple, and Phyle plated a run on a groundout in the fifth, and three more runs came across in the sixth, all on a bases-clearing double byÂ
Joe Rydel (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS).
• Brookshaw went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI, while Rydel and Bodine also had three RBI each. Phyle scored three runs, and Oulette drove in two runs. Steinhoff and
Donovan Tomony (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) also scored two runs each.
FOR THE FOES
• Matthew Inaba had two hits and the lone RBI for Grinnell, with pinch runner Brady LeSher scoring in the bottom of the seventh.
