MINNEAPOLIS -- Outscoring the hosts by a 7-3 margin in the second half, Aurora University scored an 11-6 victory over Augsburg University in a battle of Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference playoff contenders on Friday afternoon at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg trailed Aurora 4-3 at halftime, but the Spartans scored two straight goals to open the second half, then scored the last four goals of the game in the final 10 minutes of play to pull away from the Auggies.

Mikayla Jones (JR, Oak Park Heights, Minn./B.E. Emerson Prep HS) scored two goals apiece for the Auggies, with

Maddie Seykora (SO, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) had 10 saves, five ground balls and two caused turnovers in the game.
• The game was an evenly matched affair statistically. Aurora outshot Augsburg by a 29-23 margin. Both teams had 32 ground balls. Aurora had 10 draw controls to Augsburg's nine, and Augsburg had 25 successful clears to Aurora's 24.

• Kristina Krokosz scored three of her four goals in the second half to lead Aurora, adding two caused turnovers, two draw controls and four ground balls.
