MINNEAPOLIS --
Jamie Kaye (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) pitched his sixth complete-game of the season, allowing only two runs on seven hits in the opener, as his Augsburg University baseball team scored a split with Saint John's University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Pitching his sixth straight complete game in his seven starts this season, Kaye struck out five against just one walk and seven hits, improving to 5-2 on the season. Kaye's six complete games are tied for the
most among MIAC pitchers in overall statistics. His 52.2 innings pitched this season are second-most in the MIAC, as are his 51 strikeouts. His 1.88 earned-run average is sixth-best in the MIAC.
• Saint John's struck first, scoring a run in the first inning. The Auggies answered back in the third, tying the game when
Mike Brookshaw (SR, Prescott, Wis./Prescott HS) reached on a double to right field then crossed the plate on a RBI groundout by
Travis Schmidt (JR, Gaylord, Minn./Sibley East HS).
• Augsburg took the lead in fifth with back-to-back singles by
Clayton Bodine (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) and
Kyle Hoppe (SO, Andover, Minn./Andover HS), setting the stage for
Joe Rydel (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) to drive in a run with a single of his own.
• The Johnnies tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the sixth, but the Auggies responded quickly, scoring two runs in the bottom of the inning to seal the win.
Walker Rogers (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn,. Simley HS) scored on a
Daniel Phyle (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Rosemount HS) single, and pinch-hitter
Ryan Masui (SR, Excelsior, Minn./Minnetonka HS) drove in Phyle on a single to left field.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg scored first in the second game, but was unable to hold off the Johnnies after that. Saint John's scored at least one run in all but the first and sixth innings, and capitalized on four errors given up by the Auggies.
• Rydel had a pair of singles and scored a run for the Auggies in the sixth inning. Rydel hit 4-for-6 in the doubleheader.
• Rogers had a double and single with two RBI.. Brookshaw and Phyle had one single each.
•
Darius Uditsky (SO, St. Louis Park, Minn./Holy Family HS) came in for relief, pitching 3.0 innings, striking out five batters against one walk and only allowing one run on three hits.
FOR THE FOES
• Joey Stock was 3-for-3 -- hitting two singles and a triple -- and scored on an RBI double by Aaron Kloeppner in the first game.
• Saint John's amassed 15 runs in the second game, with Max Jackson hitting 3-for-5, while Wyatt Ulrich, Jack Wingerd, Ethan Roe and Michale Gruber all had two hits each.
• Mason Miller got the win for the Johnnies in game two, giving up three runs on six hits. Nick Penick earned the save, giving up no runs or hits in his 3.1 innings pitched.
