MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Augsburg University baseball team was edged by one run in both games in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader matchup against Saint Mary's University on Tuesday, as the Auggies celebrated their nine seniors on Senior Day at Parade Stadium.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Pitcher
Charles Linder (SR, Harris, Minn./North Branch HS) threw a solid 7.0 innings in his outing for the Auggies, allowing four runs on seven hits with two strikeouts against one walk.
Joey Tschida (JR, Lakeville, Minn./St. Thomas Academy HS) pitched an inning of relief.

Mike Brookshaw (SR, Prescott, Wis./Prescott HS) was 2-for-4, hitting a single in the second inning, then scoring the first Auggie run on a
Travis Schmidt (JR, Gaylord, Minn./Sibley East HS) single to left field.
• Augsburg added two more runs in the third inning, as
Josh Tyler (SO, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) drove in
Donovan Tomony (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) on a RBI double to right field. Tyler also crossed the plate as
Daniel Phyle (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Rosemount HS) singled.
• Saint Mary's had a one-run lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Auggies tied the game when
Joe Rydel (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) started the inning with a single and then scored on a Cardinal error.
• However, Saint Mary's took advantage of an Augsburg fielding error in the eighth inning, scoring the eventual game-winner.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• The nightcap was highlighted with outstanding pitching efforts by both teams - allowing only seven total hits by both teams combined.
Dylan Irving (FY, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) threw his first collegiate complete game, giving up only one run on three hits and striking out four against two walks.
• Augsburg's four hits were all singles, hit by Tyler, Phyle,
Clayton Bodine (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) and
Kyle Hoppe (SO, Andover, Minn./Andover HS).
• The Cardinals scored the only run of the game in the fifth inning, on a perfectly executed suicide squeeze bunt.
FOR THE FOES
• Pitcher Luke Gilbertson had a shutout outing for the Cardinals, giving up four hits and striking out four against one walk.
• Andy Tepp went 3-for-4 in the first game, scoring two runs and earning a RBI. Tepp also scored the only run in the second game. Matthew Piechowski was 4-for-7 in the doubleheader, with three runs and one RBI.
