ST. PETER, Minn. -- The Augsburg University baseball team dropped a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader to Gustavus Adolphus College on Sunday afternoon.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Gustavus scored a run in both the fourth and fifth innings and twice in the sixth inning to clinch the first-game victory over the Auggies.

Jamie Kaye (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) pitched his seventh complete game of the season, giving up four runs on five hits while striking out two against one walk, in his seven innings on the mound.
• Leading the Augsburg offense was
Kyle Hoppe (SO, Andover, Minn./Andover HS), who went 2-for-2 with a walk in his three plate appearances.
• The Auggies had five hits -- all singles -- in the game, but were unable to string them together to collect any runs.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg's three runs all came in the sixth inning. The Auggies loaded the bases when Dan Phyle (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Rosemount HS) was hit by a pitch and with singles by
Josh Tyler (SO, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) and
Chase Thomley (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS).
Clayton Bodine (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) drove in Tyler and Phyle on a fielder's choice. Bodine then crossed the plate on a one-out double to left center by
Brayden Gray (FY, Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS).

Joe Rydel (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) and
Walker Rogers (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) had one hit each, while Tyler led the Auggies with two hits.
• Pitcher
Charles Linder (SR, Harris, Minn./North Branch HS) got the start for Augsburg and spent 4.2 innings on the mound.
Dylan Irving (FY, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) had two strikeouts against two walks in 3.0 innings of relief.
FOR THE FOES
• Matt Berkner led the Gustie offense, going five-for-eight with five RBI and two runs in both games.
• Pitcher Christian Johnson earned a shutout victory in game one, allowing just five hits through seven innings, striking out six against three walks.
