ST. PAUL, Minn. --
Clayton Bodine (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) had five hits, scoring two runs and driving in three, to lead the Augsburg University baseball team in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader against the University of St. Thomas on Saturday.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg opened the scoring by driving in two runs in the first inning. St. Thomas responded in the second inning, tying the game. The Tommie bats stayed hot the rest of the game, driving in runs in every inning except the fifth.
• Augsburg's two-run first inning started with a double by Dan Phyle (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Rosemount HS), who later crossed the plate when Bodine tripled to center field. Bodine scored on a
Joe Rydel (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) RBI groundout.
• The Auggies added one run in both the fourth and fifth innings, off of back-to-back, two-out singles by
Kyle Hoppe (SO, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) and
Walker Rogers (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) in the fourth, and back-to-back singles by
Mike Brookshaw (SR, Prescott, Wis./Prescott HS) and Bodine in the fifth.
• A two-run, three-hit sixth inning was the best the Auggies could piece together offensively all day.
Donovan Tomony (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) and Rogers both hit singles and scored.
Josh Tyler (SO, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) had a RBI single to right field, scoring Tomony. Phyle hit a RBI groundout, scoring Rogers.

Jamie Kaye (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) saw 3.2 innings on the mound for the Auggies, with
Dylan Irving (FY, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) and
Joey Tschida (JR, Lakeville, Minn./St. Thomas Academy HS) pitching relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg was only able to claim three total hits in the game, two of which came off of Bodine's bat -- a single in the first inning and a solo home run in the sixth inning.
• Phyle had the third Augsburg hit, a single to center field.

Charles Linder (SR, Harris, Minn./North Branch HS) pitched 2.1 innings for the Auggies, being relieved by
Paul Girard (FY, Maple Grove, Minn./Wayzata HS) and
Quentin Lake (SO, Portland, Ore./Lincoln HS). Girard and Lake had 3.2 and 1.0 innings of work, respectively.
FOR THE FOES
• Dan Bollingberg hit a perfect 8-for-8 in the twinbill, racking up five runs and three RBI. Ryan Lust earned four hits, four runs and five RBI.
• Pitcher Graham Laubscher got the game two start, giving up one run on three hits, striking out 13 against two walks.
