ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Mike Brookshaw (SR, Prescott, Wis./Prescott HS) had five hits, driving in two runs, to lead the Augsburg University baseball team in split of a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at Macalester College on Tuesday. 

THE BASICS

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Pitcher Charles Linder (SR, Harris, Minn./North Branch HS) gained the victory for the Auggies, allowing no runs with only six hits, striking out four batters and walking one im 5.1 innings. Dylan Irving (FY, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) came in for relief, pitching 1.2 innings with three strikeouts to earn the save. 
• Augsburg scored all three of its runs in the third inning. The inning started with back-to-back singles by Joe Rydel (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) and Donovan Tomony (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS), and both moved into scoring position on a Chris Steinhoff (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Como Park HS) sacrifice bunt. After a Kyle Hoppe (SO, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) infield single, Brookshaw hit a two-run double to put the Auggies on the scoreboard. Clayton Bodine (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) and Walker Rogers (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) both walked, with Hoppe crossing the plate on Rogers' bases-loaded walk. 
• Brookshaw also had a single in the fifth inning for a two-hit first game.
• Macalester stranded eight runners on base in the game, including runners in each of the final five innings. The Scots left two runners aboard in the sixth inning and the bases loaded in the seventh.
• With this victory, it is the third time this season that the Auggies have recorded a shutout. 

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Macalester scored all five of its runs in the first three innings of the second game, keeping the Auggies off the scoreboard until the seventh inning.
• In the seventh, Rogers started off the inning with an infield single and moved to second on a Rydel walk. Troy Ouellette (JR, Robbinsdale, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) singled to right center, advancing both runners. Steinhoff reached base on a fielding error, plating Rydel and Rogers.
• Brookshaw went 3-for-4 in the second game for the Auggies, while Bodine, Rogers and Ouellette also had hits.
• Jacob Kraft (SR, Hutchinson, Minn./Hutchinson HS) got the start for Augsburg, pitching two innings, while Joey Tschida (JR, Lakeville, Minn./St. Thomas Academy HS) and Darius Uditsky (SO, St. Louis Park, Minn./Holy Family HS) pitched three innings each. 

FOR THE FOES 
• Graham Low had five hits in the doubleheader, including a solo home run and RBI double in the second game.
• Pitcher Thomas Shogren threw in all nine innings in the second game, only allowing two runs, six hits and one walk while striking out three batters.

• Augsburg returns to action on Saturday (4/13) at 1 p.m., hosting Carleton College in a MIAC doubleheader at Parade Stadium.
• Macalester travels to face Cornell (Iowa) in a nonconference doubleheader on Friday (4/12) at 2 p.m.
