DECORAH, Iowa -- The No. 17-ranked Augsburg University volleyball team earned its eighth consecutive win with a three-set sweep at Luther College on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Augsburg offense hit at a season-best .360 clip, led by
Kayla Gjerde (SO, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) who had 10 kills. Gjerde also amassed six digs, a block assist and a service ace.

Maddie Nierengarten (JR, Foley, Minn./Princeton HS) collected eight kills for the Auggies, adding three digs and an ace, while hitting .538. Right-side hitter
Megan Quam (SR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS), had seven kills on nine swings without an error (.778), adding a dig and a block assist.

Izzy Barr (SO, River Falls, Wis./River Falls HS) and
Lexie Lang (SO, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) spilt the setting duties, earning 20 and 17 assists, respectively. Barr and Lang had four service aces each.

Jaelin Rios (SR, Champlin Park, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) contributed six digs, two assists and an ace for the Auggies.
• After a first set that saw eight ties and four lead changes, the Auggies took command in the final two sets, never trailing in the second set, while the third set featured just three ties and one lead change. The match took just 1:15 to complete for the Auggies, ranked No. 17 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III national poll.
FOR THE FOES
• Sydnee Scheier led Luther with five kills, while Sam Sixta had 15 assists.
• Anna Jerewein earned a team-best eight digs.
