MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Scoring 42 points in the second and third quarters, Concordia College-Moorhead broke open what had been a close game with visiting Augsburg University and turned it into a 48-0 shutout victory in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first six drives between the two teams in the first quarter resulted in in five punts and a fumble. Concordia broke the scoring drought with a touchdown in the last minute of the quarter, then Augsburg marched the ball 68 yards on nine plays to the Cobber 11-yard line. But a 28-yard field-goal attempt was blocked, and the ensuing drive resulted in another Concordia score -- the second of five straight drives that ended in touchdowns for the hosts. Concordia capped the scoring with back-to-back interception returns for touchdowns in the third quarter.

Josiah Ferguson (JR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertvilel HS) caught four passes for 62 yards for the Auggies.Â
Quran Al-Hameed (JR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) rushed 16 times for 43 yards, and
Devin Prater (SR, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) rushed three times for 49 yards, including a 35-yarder late in the game.

Chad Costello (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) completing 9-of-20 passes for 104 yards, and
Robert Adams (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Como Park HS) completing 3-of-4 passes for 27 yards.
• Defensively, linebacker
Derek Glynn (SR, Lonsdale, Minn./Faribault HS) claimed his third straight double-digit tackle game, leading all players with 16 tackles (six solo).
Brandon Sjostrand (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) had eight tackles (two solo), andÂ
Steven Edwards Jr. (SR, Kissimmee, Fla./Liberty HS) had six tackles (three solo).
• Concordia outgained Augsburg by a 387-226 margin in the game, including 296 rushing yards to Augsburg's 95.
FOR THE FOES
• Andy Gravdahl caught two touchdown passes from Blake Kragnes, a 49-yarder in the second quarter and a 28-yarder in the third quarter.Â
• Logan Hatfield rushed nine times for 89 yards and a touchdown, while Ba Blamo rushed nine times for 62 yards and a touchdown, and Wyatt Curtis rushed six times for 72 yards.
• Marshall King and Willie Julkes each scored on interception returns for touchdowns.
