No. 14-ranked Auggies roll over Carleton

MINNEAPOLIS -- The No. 14-ranked Augsburg University volleyball team opened Augsburg's Homecoming Week with a dominant three-set victory over Carleton College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• In a match that took a little over an hour to complete, Augsburg dominated Carleton from start to finish, earning its sixth three-set sweep of the year and extending its win streak to four matches. Fifteen Auggies saw action in the match, finishing with a team attacking percent of .368 -- the team's highest this season.
• Kayla Gjerde (SO, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) led the Auggie offense with 11 kills -- her ninth match this year with double-digit kills -- hitting at a .500 clip. Gjerde added four digs and two block assists. 
• Leading Augsburg at the net, Corrina Evans (JR, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) had seven blocks (one solo) and six kills, while also collecting three digs and two service aces. 
Lexie Lang (SO, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) and Megan Quam (SR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) had three block assists each. Lang earned her career-best setting effort with 24 assists, adding seven kills and six digs. Quam added four kills for the Auggies.
• Maddie Nierengarten (JR, Foley, Minn./Princeton HS) contributed five kills, four digs, two assists a solo block and a service ace. 
Jaelin Rios (SR, Champlin, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) had a team-best eight digs, along with an assist and an ace.

FOR THE FOES
• Abby Loe had nine kills for the Knights, while Inger Shelton had 15 assists.
• Tegan Carlson earned nine digs for Carleton.
