WINONA, Minn. -- With its stingy defense delivering the team's fifth shutout victory of the season, the Augsburg University women's soccer team claimed its second straight Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory with a 1-0 triumph at Saint Mary's University on Saturday afternoon.

• Eight Auggies played the full 90 minutes in the contest, including the defensive foursome of
Claire Popp (JR, New Berlin, Wis./New Berlin Eisenhower HS),
Molly Conners (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS),
Jen Masello (SO, Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South HS) and
Rachel Montgomery (FY, Cottage Grove, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS), along with goalkeeperÂ
Emily Chapman (SR, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) and midfielders
Callie Athey (JR, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS),
Niki Ryan (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) and
Jada Olson (SR, Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS).
• Augsburg used just two substitutes in the game, but one of them scored the lone goal of the game.
Tess Ryan (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) scored her second collegiate goal, assisted by Athey, at the 28:23 mark of the contest.
• Augsburg outshot Saint Mary's by a 9-3 margin, with Chapman claiming one save in goal for her fourth shutout of the season and 18th of her career.

• Gabriella Pederson had three saves in goal for Saint Mary's.
