MINNEAPOLIS -- The No. 11-ranked Augsburg University women's basketball team used its second-best shooting performance of the season to top Macalester College 81-54 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies jumped out to a 26-14 first quarter lead, but the Scots played well in the second and Augsburg took just a 43-34 lead into the locker room at the intermission. The Auggie defense shut down Macalester in the third quarter, allowing just six point from the Scots. Augsburg was able to play 17 players in the game and 13 factored into the scoring as the Auggies cruised on to the victory.

Kaezha Wubben (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS), who scored 18 points, shooting 7-for-8 from the field, while picking up two steals in just 12 minutes of action.

Camryn Speese (SR, Bloomington, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) again paced the Auggies, pulling down a game-high eight rebounds to go along with 15 points.

Tamira McLemore (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) added 12 points, shooting 4-for-8 from the field and 3-of-4 from three point range.

Arianna Jones (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS) added nine points and four assists, whileÂ
Jazmyn Solseth (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) added eight points and five rebounds.
• Augsburg had its second-best shooting effort of the season, connecting on 50.0 percent (30-of-60) from the field, while posting its best shooting effort of the season from three-point range (55.6 percent; 10-of-18). The Auggies have connected on 10-or-more three pointers in seven games this season and boast a 7-0 record in those games.
• The Auggie defense held Macalester to just 36.4 percent (20-of-55) from the field and 21.4 percent (3-of-14) from three-point range.
• Augsburg posted a 41-34 advantage on the boards and posted a 38-20 advantage in points off turnovers.

• Macalester was led by Justine Barraza, who scored 12 points, while grabbing four rebounds.
• Celine Sabbagh added 10 points and three rebounds for the Scots.
