Gunnar Goodmanson (JR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) scored at the 3:01 mark of the second overtime, giving the Augsburg University men's hockey team a bonus conference standings point following a 2-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tie with Bethel University on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The game is officially recorded as a 2-2 tie, but Augsburg gained the extra point in the MIAC standings with Goodmanson's goal in the 3-on-3 second overtime, assisted by
Jason Krych (SR, Champlin, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) and
Austin Martinsen (JR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS).

Tommy Carey (JR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) gave the Auggies the lead with a goal 3:29 into the second period, assisted by
Michael Redmon (FY, West Bloomfield, Mich./Centennial (Tenn.) HS) and
Austin Dollimer (SO, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS).
• Bethel took a 2-1 lead after two periods, but the Auggies tied the game 2:08 into the third period, as Martinsen scored his sixth goal of the season, assisted by Goodmanson.
• Augsburg outshot Bethel by a 52-31 margin in regulation and the first overtime, and outshot Bethel by a 5-2 margin in the second overtime.
• Making his first collegiate start and fourth appearance in goal,
Jon Albers (JR, Blaine, Minn./Centennial HS) had 29 saves in regulation and the first overtime.
FOR THE FOES
• Joe Sheppards had 50 saves in goal in regulation and the first overtime for Bethel.
• Curtis Hansen and Luke Posner scored goals for the Royals.
