ST. PETER, Minn. -- A pair of second-half runs enabled the Gustavus Adolphus College men's basketball team to pull away from visiting Augsburg University in a 92-88 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After surrendering the first seven points of the game, Augsburg slowly got back into the game, and used a 19-8 run to take its biggest lead of the game, 34-26 with 6:35 left in the first half.
• Augsburg led 46-44 at halftime, but an 11-2 run gave the Gusties their biggest advantage, 66-55 with 10:52 left in the contest. Augsburg rallied to tie the game twice in the final 4:08, but the Gusties used a 6-1 run to take a 90-84 advantage with 21 seconds remaining, and did not trail in the final 2:39 of play.

Booker Coplin (SR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) paced the Auggies with a 24-point, nine-rebound, three-assist performance, his 10th game with 20 or more points this season and 39th such game in his Augsburg career.

James Streeter (JR, Coon Rapids, Minn./Totino Grace HS) scored in double figures in his third straight game and sixth time this season, scoring 15 points, the most points for the transfer in an Augsburg uniform. He also pulled down a season-high eight rebounds and had two blocked shots.

Matt Carik (JR, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) kept up his "ironman" pace of late, playing all 40 minutes in his fourth straight game. He scored 12 points with a game-high nine assists and six rebounds. It's his fifth game with double-digit points, five or more assists and five or more rebounds this season.

Joe Palmer (FY, Faribault, Minn./Faribault HS) came off the bench to score 15 points with eight rebounds, and
Henry Mulligan (SR, Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City HS) and
Carter Duncan (SR, Chisago City, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) scored 10 points each.
• Augsburg connected on 42.0 percent (34-of-81) from the field, compared to 48.6 percent (34-of-70) for Gustavus. Gustavus also held the advantage at the charity stripe, hitting 15-of-22 free throws, compared to 9-of-13 for Augsburg. The Gusties out-rebounded the Auggies by a 44-33 margin.

• Playing just three seasons at Augsburg after spending his first year at Wisconsin-River Falls, Coplin currently stands in sixth place in Augsburg history in career scoring, with 1,477 points in 71 Auggie games. His 20.8 career points-per-game average is fourth-best in Augsburg history. Playing in his 99th career collegiate game, he now has 1,561 overall points (15.8 per-game).
FOR THE FOES
• Jake Guse scored 20 points with eight rebounds and two blocked shots to lead Gustavus, while Nolan Malo scored 16 points with 10 rebounds and two blocks.
• Isaac Doublas scored 15 points with six assists, and CJ Woda and Logan Rezac scored 11 points each, with Rezac adding six assists and seven rebounds.
• The Gusties blocked eight shots in the game, including three by Kaleb Feahn.
