HOW IT HAPPENED
•
Ellie Tabaka (SR, Maplewood, Minn./Tartan HS) claimed her first multi-goal game of her Augsburg career, scoring two goals with an assist. She scored both of her goals in a 17-second span in the second period. The first goal came at the 6:54 mark, on a wrist shot from the slot following a centering pass from
Mikayla Jones (SR, Oak Park Heights, Minn./B.E. Emerson Prep HS), with
Mackenzie Molnar (SR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) getting the second assist. Her second goal came just after the ensuing faceoff, with the hosts crashing the Bennie net. An initial shot by Molnar was rebounded for a shot by Jones, and Tabaka pounced on the loose puck and flipped it over the goalie's legs for her third goal of the season at the 7:11 mark.
• Augsburg's first goal came at the 17:40 mark of the first period, as Jones received a great pass across the slot from
McKenna Ellena (JR, Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) and scored on a rising wrister. Tabaka had the second assist on the goal.
• The Auggies finished the scoring with 13 seconds left to play, as
Bridget Wagner (SR, Niles, Ill./Maine South HS) put home a rebound off an initial shot by Ellena for her seventh goal of the season.
• For the second straight night, Augsburg held a considerable advantage in shots on-goal, with a 33-16 advantage. On the weekend, the Auggies outshot the Bennies by a 78-32 margin and scored nine goals, with a 5-0 win on Friday.
