MINNEAPOLIS -- Extending its winning streak to seven straight games against Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents, the Augsburg University women's hockey team scored a 3-2 victory over Saint Mary's University on Friday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg dominated play through the first two periods, outshooting Saint Mary's by a 30-12 margin and controlling possession of the puck a majority of the time. Saint Mary's tied the game with a goal 98 seconds into the third period, but the Auggies replied with a pair of goals in a 2:26 span to re-take the lead.

Bridget Wagner (SR, Niles, Ill./Maine South HS) opened the scoring for the Auggies at the 4:37 mark of the first period with her team-leading eighth goal of the season, pouncing on the rebound off a shot by
Nikki Nightengale (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) and sliding the puck under the goalie's glove in front.
Emily Ach (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) received the second assist.
• Augsburg claimed the lead back at the 10:26 mark of the third period, as
Katie Flynn (FY, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) sprinted in the slot to a loose puck off a blocked shot by Wagner, and fired a top-shelf shot over the goalie's shoulder for her seventh goal of the year.

Mackenzie Molnar (SR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) gave the Auggies an important insurance goal at the 13:01 mark on the power play, firing a wrist shot from the left circle for her fourth goal of the year.
Kalli Prekker (JR, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) and
McKenna Ellena (JR, Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) assisted on the goal, Augsburg's eighth power-play goal of the season.
• Augsburg held a 44-17 advantage in shots on-goal, and Auggie goalie
Abby Bollig (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) improved to 9-1-0 on the season with a 15-save effort.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg extended its winning streak over conference opponents to seven straight games. During the league streak, the Auggies have outscored their opponents by a 28-3 margin.
• Augsburg's shutout streak in MIAC play, extending over parts of six games, was stopped at 308:55 with the Cardinals' first goal in the third period.

• Saint Mary's scored two goals in the third period, as Delaney Wolf scored from Carolyn Chrastka at the 1:38 mark, and Lauren Folker scored from Courtney Moser and Sydney Green at the 14:20 mark.
