MINNEAPOLIS --
Tamira McLemore (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) scored 16 points with three rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead her Augsburg University women's basketball team to its first season sweep of the University of St. Thomas since the 1984-85 season, a 60-56 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win on Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Tied 41-41 after three quarters, Augsburg used an 11-4 run to take a 52-45 lead with 5:01 left to play. St. Thomas was able to pull with 57-56 with 21 seconds left in the action, but a pair of free throws by McLemore gave the Auggies a 59-56 advantage with 16 seconds left. St. Thomas was able to get two shots off, but neither fell and the Tommies were forced to foul. Augsburg made 1-of-2 free throws in the final seconds to earn the important MIAC victory.
• The Auggie offense was paced by McLemore, who was 6-for-6 from the free throw line and led Augsburg to a 14-4 advantage at the charity stripe on the night.

Jazmyn Solseth (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) scored 12 points with four rebounds and two steals, and
Camryn Speese (SR, Bloomington, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) added 10 points with four rebounds and three steals.

Jen Masello (SO, Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South HS), who pulled down six rebounds to go along with five points and three assists.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 36.8 percent (21-of-57) from the field, compared to 53.5 percent (23-of-43) for the Tommies.
• The Auggies posted a narrow 30-29 advantage on the boards, but were able to force 20 St. Thomas turnovers, while only committing 10.Â
• Augsburg claimed a 19-0 advantage in fast-break points and a 13-2 advantage in second-chance points.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg is ranked No. 19 in the latest D3hoops.com Division III national poll, while St. Thomas is ranked No. 17 in the D3hoops.com ranking and No. 18 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division III national poll.
• The win completed just the second season sweep of St. Thomas in Augsburg women's basketball history. The first came in the 1984-85 season, ironically, current Augsburg head coach
Ted Riverso's first season of his 15 coaching at St. Thomas (1984-99).
• Augsburg also ended two long St. Thomas streaks on Wednesday -- 39 straight MIAC road wins and 39 straight wins in January, a streak that lasted five seasons.

• Brynne Rolland scored 26 points on 13-of-16 shooting from the field to lead St. Thomas.
• Shayla Wallin added eight points and five rebounds for the Tommies.
