ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference leading scorer
Booker Coplin (SR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) led all players with a game-high 37 points in a 91-78 victory over Hamline University on Wednesday night at Hutton Arena. With the win, the Auggies qualify for the MIAC playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg jumped out to to a 27-8 lead and was able to take a 48-35 advantage into the locker room at the intermission. The Pipers cut the Auggie lead to seven early in the second-half, but Augsburg extended it back to double digits and claimed another important MIAC victory. The win locks up a berth in the six-team MIAC postseason playoffs for the Auggie men, their fifth consecutive and 10th in the last 12 seasons.
• Coplin scored his 37 points on an 11-of-22 shooting effort, including 5-for-10 from three-point range. He added nine rebounds and five assists in the impressive effort. This was Coplin's third game this season scoring 30-plus points.

Carter Duncan (SR, Chisago City, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) posted his first double-double of the season and second of his Auggie career with a 17-point, 10-rebound effort. Duncan was 8-of-12 from the field in 28 minutes of action.
• Also scoring in double figures for the Auggies was
Joe Palmer (FY, Faribault, Minn/Faribault HS), who finished with 16 points, shooting 4-of-9 from three point range.
• For the 10th time this season, Augsburg shot better than 50 percent from the field. The Auggies connected on 53.4 percent (31-of-58) of their shot attempts, while Hamline hit 48.3 percent (28-of-58) of its shot attempts.
• Augsburg posted a 36-23 advantage on the boards and a 19-7 advantage in second chance points.
FOR THE FOES
• Hamline was led by a 23 point effort from Michael Dillon.
• Luke Siwek and Trey Prince added 16 and 10 points respectively for the Pipers.
