Augsburg scores important 2-0 win at Concordia

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Augsburg University men's hockey team took a five-point lead in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standings with a 2-0 victory at Concordia College-Moorhead in a meeting of conference title contenders on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Daniil Gerasimov (JR, Moscow, Russia/State School 1944) claimed his fifth shutout victory of the season in goal for the Auggies, stopping all 27 shots he faced. 
• Michael Redmon (FY, West Bloomfield, Mich./Centennial (Tenn.) HS) broke a scoreless tie with a power-play goal from Patrick O'Connor (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) and Austin Dollimer (SO, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) at the 14:50 mark of the second period.
• Seeing action in his seventh career game, Austin Koss (FY, Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach HS) scored his first collegiate goal at the 6:32 mark of the third period, assisted by Dollimer and Redmon.
• Concordia outshot Augsburg by a 27-22 margin in the game.

• Augsburg, ranked No. 15 in the latest USCHO.com Division III national poll, has now outscored its opponents by a 63-41 margin, including a 45-24 margin in MIAC play.
