Augsburg falls to No. 11-ranked Bethel

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -- The No. 14-ranked Augsburg University women's basketball team fell 71-55 to No. 11-ranked Bethel University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Wednesday evening at the Robertson Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg trailed just 39-34 at the half, but a tough third quarter plagued the Auggies in a loss to Bethel, which clinched the MIAC regular-season title with the win.
• Augsburg was led by Tamira McLemore (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS), who finished with 13 and seven rebounds. McLemore added three steals and a pair of blocked shots.
• Also finishing in double figures was Kaezha Wubben (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS), who scored 12 points while finishing 8-of-11 from the free throw line.
Jen Masello (SO, Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South HS) added seven rebounds and Jazmyn Solseth (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) chipped in six boards.
• For the game, Augsburg was held to just 28.1 percent (16-of-57) from the field, while Bethel connected on 43.9 percent (25-of-57) of its shot attempts. 
• Bethel posted a 48-32 advantage on the boards and a 38-18 advantage in points in the paint.

FOR THE FOES
• Bethel was led by Taite Anderson, who posted a 25-point, 12-rebound double-double.
• Makenna Pearson added 23 points and eight rebounds for the Royals.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg concludes its regular season on Saturday (2/22) at 3 p.m. hosting Gustavus Adolphus College at Si Melby Hall.
• Bethel also wraps up the regular season on Saturday hosting the College of Saint Benedict.
