MINNEAPOLIS --
Shannon Dale (SR, Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS) went 5-for-7 at the plate with a double, leading the Augsburg University softball team in a season-opening nonconference doubleheader split with the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Friday evening.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Dale went 2-for-3 in the first game with a pair of RBI. She stroked a single to center to plateÂ
Anesia King (SR, Isanti, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) in the bottom of the first inning, then hit a double to center in the sixth inning to drive in
Sarah Garcia (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS). Dale scored the go-ahead run on a single by
Sabriya Passmore (FY, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS).
• Making her first collegiate start in the pitching circle, Passmore claimed the victory for the Auggies, striking out four while walking three and allowing nine hits.Â
• King went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Auggies, with
Kayla Hanson (SO, Trimont, Minn./St. James HS) also getting a hit in Augsburg's six-hit first game.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three innings, but UW-Superior rallied back with 10 of the 11 runs of the game.
• Hanson hit a two-run triple in the second inning to plate
Cassie Lehman (SR, Blaine, Minn./Centennial HS) and
Bella Kallas (JR, Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake HS), and she came around to score on a King groundout.
• Garcia led off the sixth inning with a double, and she scored on an RBI single by Dale.
• Dale and Hanson both went 3-for-4 in the second game, while Garcia went 2-for-2.
• Kallas started in the pitching circle and allowed five hits in 4.2 innings of work. Passmore pitched 1.1 innings of relief. Three of the runs allowed were unearned, as Augsburg committed four errors in the game.
FOR THE FOES
• Kaela Kramer had five hits in the doubleheader, two in the first game and three, including a double, in the second game. She drove in four runs for the Yellowjackets.
• Tayler Kramer picked up the pitching win for UW-Superior in the second game with a three-strikeout effort in six innings of work.
