HOW IT HAPPENED
• The go-ahead goal came in the 83rd minute, off a drive down the right wing by
Kebba Janneh (FY, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS). Janneh found Menna in the center of the six-yard box, and he was able to score off his own rebound.
• Augsburg had to rally from a 1-0 deficit, after Concordia had taken the lead with a goal in the 29th minute.
Nick Zuchowski (JR, Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) scored in the 73rd minute for the Auggies, following a four-shot scramble in the 18-yard box. Zuchowski put home the tying goal following a shot in front by
Miguel Tejeda (SO, Waukegan, Ill./Waukegan HS).
• Augsburg outshot Concordia by an 18-12 margin and held a 62-to-38-percent advantage in possession in the game.
•

FOR THE FOES

• Erik Torres had five saves for the Cobbers.
QUOTES FROM AUGSBURG COACH GREG HOLKER
• "We were lulled to sleep in the first half by an organized Concordia team. Their lower block against what we were trying to implement was disruptive and effective. In addition, we didn't come out with much urgency. Put that together with them having one of the best players in the league and it sets up a problem. Telvin Vah's goal was exactly what they were looking for in the game, and we were pretty disappointed we gave him the opportunity. Oscar likely wants the moment back, but he more than made up for it with two important saves later in the game. For a young goalkeeper, he is really impressive and so much fun to watch."
• "At halftime, we adjusted our tactics a bit, and that provided more comfort and confidence to the group. Moving Jorge Radilla forward was incredibly important, as he did some incredible work to beat three opponents in a tight space to set up the game-tying goal, and with that Jono could hold deeper and shut down Vah. When Jorge's effort was steered out, Miggy smashed it back in to force a save and Z was there for the simple put-back header from six yards."
• "The man of the match tonight has to be
Tomas Menna -- he has played very little, but trains super-hard consistently. He is the consummate teammate, so for him to enter and immediately score was so much fun for all of us."
