Auggies claim 3-1 triumph over Cobbers

MINNEAPOLIS -- Behind goals from Annika Rudolph (FY, Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS), Ana Ortiz (SR, Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus Catholic HS) and Jaelyn Nedelcoff (FY, Oregon, Wis./Oregon HS), the Augsburg University women's soccer team claimed a 3-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over Concordia College-Moorhead on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Rudolph scored her second collegiate goal at the 31:10 mark, working onto the top right corner of the 18-yard box, then firing a shot to the top left corner of the goal.
• The Auggies took a 2-0 lead in the 63rd minute, as Ortiz scored her fourth goal in the last five games, getting feeds from Nedelcoff  and Molly Conners (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) and blasting a shot from the right side. 
• Nedelcoff capped the scoring at the 82:55 mark, scoring on a pass from Megan Hensel (SO, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS), following free kick by Jen Masello (SR, Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South HS) from 45 yards out that hit the crossbar.
• Augsburg controlled the action for most of the game, holding a 57-to-43-percent possession advantage and outshooting the Cobbers by a 23-7 margin in the game.
• Masello had five shots in the game, while Ortiz and Jennifer Bobaric (JR, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) had four shots each.
• Iz Shuster (SO, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS) had one save in goal for the Auggies.

FOR THE FOES

• Sophia Robinson scored her second goal of the season for Concordia in the 86th minute.
• Breanna Nelson had four saves in goal for the Cobbers in 85 minutes, with Kaitlin Petrich playing the final five minutes in relief.
