Auggies edged in OT by MIAC co-leader Wildcats

MINNEAPOLIS -- In a battle of Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer contenders, conference co-leading St. Catherine University scored a 2-1 overtime victory over host Augsburg University on Friday evening at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg struck first, scoring in the 20th minute. Jennifer Bobaric (JR, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) drove up the left wing and fired a cross into the 18-yard box. After a touch by Ana Ortiz (SR, Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus Catholic HS), Jaelyn Nedelcoff (FY, Oregon, Wis./Oregon HS) put the ball home for her fourth goal of the season.
• The two teams played a very even, physical game throughout, with Augsburg maintaining a narrow 52-to-48-percent advantage in possession. Augsburg outshot St. Catherine by a 13-11 margin in the game, with both teams putting eight shots on-goal. Nine Auggies played the full 95:18 of play.
• The Wildcats tied the game in the 62nd minute, and scored the game-winning goal 5:18 into overtime.
• Nedelcoff had five shots in the game, while Bobaric had three shots and Annika Rudolph (FY, Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS) had two shots. 
Iz Shuster (SO, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS) had six saves for the Auggies in goal.

FOR THE FOES
• Sofia Campbell scored both St. Catherine goals, scoring from Lauren Witte and Amora Valencia in the 62nd minute, and claiming an unassisted goal in overtime.
• Kate Praetz had seven saves in goal for the Wildcats, who entered the game with a share of the MIAC lead.
