MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University volleyball team claimed a split of a nonconference triangular meet on Saturday at Si Melby Hall, sweeping Luther College and dropping a 3-1 decision to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

AUGSBURG VS. LUTHER (IOWA)
FINAL SCORE: Augsburg def. Luther 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-12)

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Augsburg took just 79 minutes to record the three-set victory over Luther. After the first set featured 11 ties and four lead changes, Augsburg took command in the final two sets, with just two ties and two lead changes. Augsburg hit .242 as a team in the match, including a .483 attack percentage in the final set, 25-12 win. 
• Mikayla Coops (SO, Belle Plaine, Minn./Belle Plaine HS) led the way for the Auggies with 10 kills, hitting .389, and a block assist. Kevin Boysen (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) had 10 kills and a solo block. 
• Brianna Van Well (SO, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) had eight kills, hitting .333, with two blocks (one solo). Kayla Gjerde (SR, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) collected eight kills with 10 digs and a block assist.
• Both Auggie setters had assist-dig double-doubles, with Lexie Lang (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) recording 19 assists and 10 digs, and Izzy Barr (SR, River Falls, Wis./River Falls HS) recording 19 assists and 12 digs.
• Angel Khang (SO, Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul HS) recorded 14 digs, and Maddie Nierengarten (SR, Foley, Minn./Princeton HS) had 10 digs.

FOR THE FOES
• Sarina Stortz, Emma Kowalczyk and Sydnee Schreier had five kills each for Luther.
• Hailey Becker had 14 assists. Kassandra Keller had 16 digs, while Anna Jenewein had 13 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Augsburg accumulated double-digit figures for the sixth time this season, collecting 10 in the match. But UW-River Falls claimed 60 kills to Augsburg's 41 in claiming the win in four sets.
• Hitting from the right side, Boysen claimed a double-digit kill total for the 15th time this season, leading the Auggies with 11, to go along with a pair of block assists.
• Gjerde claimed seven kills with 16 digs, and Jade Fullerton (SR, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) had five kills with a match-high seven block assists.
• Coops had six kills with two block assist, and Van Well had five kills with two block assists.
• Barr recorded 17 assists, while Lang had 14, to go along with five kills and nine digs. Khang had 14 digs, while Nierengarten recorded 10.

FOR THE FOES
• Sami Hilley led all players with 20 kills and three blocks (one solo), while Katie Koerper had 16 kills and 10 digs. 
• Haley Cuba had 46 assists, to go along with 18 digs, and Brooke Voigt had 18 digs.
