NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The Augsburg University volleyball team earned an important Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over Carleton College, sweeping the Knights in straight sets on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg dominated Carleton from start to finish, earning its ninth three-set sweep of the year. Fifteen Auggies saw action in the match, finishing with a team attacking percent of .312 -- the best the Auggies have collectively hit in a month. Augsburg had seven service aces and six team blocks.
• Leading the Auggies offensively with eight kills was
Mikayla Coops (SO, Belle Plaine, Minn./Belle Plaine HS), hitting .500 with no attack errors on 16 attempts, while chipping in a block assist.
Kevin Boysen (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) finished with seven kills and a block assist.

Kayla Gjerde (SR, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) and
Jade Fullerton (SR, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) both recorded six kills, with Fullerton hitting at a .600 clip. Gjerde added 12 digs and a block assist, while Fullerton chipped in three blocks (one solo).

Maddie Nierengarten (SR, Foley, Minn./Princeton HS) had 11 digs and four kills.
Brianna Van Well (SO, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) finished with four kills, three digs and a block assist.

Lexie Lang (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) earned team-best 18 assists, adding five digs and three kills.
Izzy Barr (SR, River Falls, Wis./River Falls HS) collected 16 assists, five service aces and two digs.
FOR THE FOES
• Jancyn Appel led the Knights with eight kills, hitting at a .412 clip. Annalise Sokolow had seven kills.
• Inger Shelton had team-high assists and digs, with 16 assists and 11 digs.
