Auggies compete at NCAA DIII Central Regional

MEN'S RESULTS | WOMENS'S RESULTS

COLFAX, Wis. – The Augsburg University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Division III Central Regional hosted by UW-Eau Claire on Saturday in Colfax, Wis. and the Auggie men finished in 24th place.

AUGSBURG MEN
• Leading the Augsburg men in the 8,000-meter distance was Sakariya Hussien (SO, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) with a new personal-best time of 26:06.4, beating his previous personal best at the MIAC Championships by almost six seconds.
Getinat Asfaw (SO, Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) crossed the finish line at 26:50.8, placing 114th overall.
•  Max Jacobson (FY, Belle Plaine, Minn./Zurich International School) was the third runner across the line for the Auggies, clocking a personal-best time of 27:24.4 to finish in 135th overall.
•  Cody Rieder (JR, Delano, Minn./Delano HS) finished in 152nd place with a time of 27:53.9 while Bereket Wondimu (FY, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) followed him up in 172nd place with a personal-best time of 28:18.2.
•  Kevin Sethre (SR, Berthoud, Colo./Berthoud HS) clocked a time of 29:18.2 to finish in 192nd overall and Grayson Harris (FY, Littleton, Colo./Dakota Ridge HS) rounded out the Auggies in 205th with a personal-best time of 29:48.4.

AUGSBURG WOMEN
• Isabelle Daniels (JR, Sumner, IOWA./Sumner-Fredrickson HS) finished in 225th place with a 6k time of 31:11.2.

FOR THE FOES
• UW-Whitewater claimed the men's race with a team score of 58, fielding three of the top-six runners overall.
• The women's 6k was won by UW-Lacrosse with a total score of 50 as they fielded three of the top-10 runners overall.
