DULUTH, Minn. -- The No. 5-ranked Augsburg University men's hockey team used a four-goal second-period outburst to bust its game with the College of St. Scholastica open, as the Auggies claimed a 5-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference road victory on Friday evening to remain unbeaten at 5-0-0 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a scoreless first period, the Auggies scored three goals in a 4:16 span early in the second period to take a quick advantage, adding another goal midway through the frame for a 4-0 lead.

Fritz Belisle (JR, Red Wing, Minn./Roseville Area HS) opened the scoring with his third goal of the year at the 2:23 mark of the period, assisted by
Grant Reichenbacher (JR, Verona, Wis./Madison Edgewood HS) and
Andrew Hicks (SO, Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS).
• Reichenbacher scored from Belisle and
Tommy Carls (SO, Coon Rapids, Minn./Centennial HS) at the 5:12 mark, and
Logan Kons (SO, Niles, Ill./Niles West HS) gave the Auggies a 3-0 lead 1:27 later, assisted by
Austin Martinsen (SR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) and
Mason Palmer (JR, Plymouth, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS).

Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season at the 12:25 mark of the second period, assisted by Martinsen and
Patrick O'Connor (SR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS).
• Carls added an insurance goal for the Auggies at the 6:27 mark of the third period, assisted by Belisle.
• Augsburg poured the shots on throughout the game, outshooting the Saints by a 45-13 mark -- including a 22-3 advantage in the second period.
Jack Robbel (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) had 11 saves in goal for the Auggies.
FOR THE FOES
• Nathan Adrian and Arkhip Ledenkov scored third-period goals for St. Scholastica.
• Jack Bostedt had 29 saves in 32 minutes in goal for the Saints, with Jack Branby recording 11 saves in 28 minutes of relief.
