MINNEAPOLIS -- With all four goals coming on the power play, the No. 5-ranked Augsburg University men's hockey team remained unbeaten with its first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series sweep of the season, coming on a 4-0 win over the College of St. Scholastica on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Much like Friday's game, after a scoreless first period, Augsburg used a multi-goal second period to pull away from St. Scholastica. Augsburg scored three goals in the second frame, including a pair of power-play goals in a 40-second span late in the period.
• For the third time in six games this season,
Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) had a two-goal night, scoring the last two power-play goals for the Auggies. He added an assist for a three-point evening.

Fritz Belisle (JR, Red Wing, Minn./Roseville Area HS) opened the scoring for the second straight night, scoring off a rebound in front at the 10:25 mark of the second frame, assisted by
Austin Dollimer (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) and
Grant Reichenbacher (JR, Verona, Wis./Madison Edgewood HS).

Jarod Blackowiak (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) gave the Auggies a 2-0 lead, scoring on a scramble in front at the 19:05 mark, assisted by
Austin Martinsen (SR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) and Holland. Forty seconds later on another power play, Holland scored from Martinsen and
Patrick O'Connor (SR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS).
• Holland capped the scoring with his seventh goal of the season, assisted by Martinsen, during a major penalty at the 2:56 mark of the third period.

Samuel Vyletelka (FY, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) picked up his second shutout in his second collegiate start, stopping all 22 shots he faced. Augsburg outshot St. Scholastica by a 36-22 margin in the game.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Holland leads the
MIAC's overall statistics with seven goals and stands tied for second with nine points.
• Augsburg has now outscored its opponents by a 20-4 margin this season, with its four goals allowed and 0.67 team goals against-average both lowest in the MIAC. Augsburg entered the weekend leading the
NCAA Division III's national statistics in scoring defense (0.67 GAA).

• Jack Bostedt had 32 saves in goal for St. Scholastica.
