Auggies edged in overtime by Cobbers

MINNEAPOLIS -- Emily Cronkhite (FY, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) and Kensie Malone (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Gentry Academy HS) scored goals for Augsburg University, but Concordia College-Moorhead used a hat trick by Abbey Hartwick to claim a 3-2, overtime victory in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey action on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg put constant pressure on Concordia throughout the game, outshooting the Cobbers by a 38-16 margin -- including an 18-3 advantage in the first period. But Augsburg could manage just one goal in the opening period, a shorthanded goal by Cronkhite at the 17:05 mark. Cronkhite took a drop pass from Malone and fired a wrist shot from the top of the left faceoff circle for her third goal of the season.
• The Cobbers tied the game with a goal 2:14 into the third period, and took the lead on a shorthanded, unassisted goal at the 12:04 mark. Augsburg tied the game with 3:23 left in regulation, as Malone scored her third goal of the season, driving up the middle on a break from Jenna Gerold (JR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS). 
• Goalie Chloe Stockinger (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had 13 saves for the Auggies.
• Malone had eight shots on-goal for the Auggies, while Katie Flynn (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) and Claire Jenkins Coffman (SO, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) had five shots each.

FOR THE FOES
• Hardwick scored from Jordie Egerdahl at the 2:14 mark of the third period, and scored on a shorthanded goal from Grace Doerring at the 12:04 mark. Her overtime goal came on the power play, rebounding home a shot by Doerring at the 1:54 mark.
• Kiana Flaig had 36 saves for Concordia.
