HOW IT HAPPENED
• For the second straight game, Augsburg dominated the shot totals, this time outshooting the Cobbers by a 35-23 margin. Augsburg held a 21-4 advantage in the first period, scoring two goals.
• The Auggies struck first at the 14:32 mark of the first period, with Sydney Rydel (SO, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) pouncing on a rebound off an Emily Cronkhite (FY, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) shot in the slot for her first collegiate goal, a power-play marker. Brooke Leone (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) received the second assist on the goal.
• Fifty-one seconds later, the Auggies took a 2-0 lead. Katie Flynn (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) gained the puck in the Concordia zone on a turnover, fed a pass forward to Kennedy Stein (SO, Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest HS), and Stein found an open Lilia Scheid (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Middleton (Wis.) • Augsburg's third goal came midway through the second period, with Carleigh Drill (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) blasting a shot from the blue line from her first goal of the season. Payton Allen (JR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) and Sydney Rydel (SO, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) assisted on the goal.
