MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University's seven-game winning streak to open the 2021-22 season came to an end on Saturday afternoon, as the No. 4-ranked Auggies fell 4-2 at Concordia College-Moorhead in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey game on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg opened the scoring just 67 seconds into the game, with Logan Kons (SO, Niles, Ill./Niles West HS) blasting a shot from the blue line for his second goal of the season. Mason Palmer (JR, Plymouth, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) fed Kons on the goal.
• But Concordia tied the game 38 seconds later, then added a power-play goal at the 13:00 mark, and another marker 5:34 into the second period to take a 3-1 advantage. Another goal at the 13:27 mark of the second period provided the final margin of victory over the Cobbers.
• Augsburg trimmed the Cobber lead to 3-2 at the 8:43 mark of the second period, as Fritz Belisle (JR, Red Wing, Minn./Roseville Area HS) pounced on the loose puck off a shot by Erik Palmqvist (JR, Linkoping, Sweden/Anderstorpsgymnasiet) and scored his fourth goal of the season.
• Augsburg outshot Concordia by a 32-22 margin in the game. Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) had five shots on-goal for the Auggies, while Palmqvist had four shots.
• Auggie goalie Jack Robbel (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) recorded 18 saves.

FOR THE FOES
• Kevin Ness, Cole O'Connell, Mason Plante and Braden Costello scored goals for Concordia. 
• Jackson Nelson had 30 saves in goal for the Cobbers.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg has an MIAC series against Hamline next weekend. Next Friday's (12/10) game is at 7 p.m. at the Tria Rink in St. Paul, Minn., and next Saturday's (12/11) game is at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink.
• Concordia is now idle for the holiday break, and returns to action on Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. with a home game against Northland (Wis.).
