ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Behind a pair of goals each from
Gavin Holland (JR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) and
Austin Koss (SO, Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach HS), the Augsburg University men's hockey team claimed a 5-2 nonconference victory over host Hamline University on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Holland recorded his second multi-goal game this season and fifth of his career. He opened the Auggies' scoring with a goal at the 13:37 mark of the first period, assisted by
Austin Martinsen (SR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) and
Andrew Hicks (FY, Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS). After Hamline scored twice in the second period, Holland tied the game with a goal six seconds into the third period, scoring from Martinsen.
• Martinsen put the Auggies ahead with a goal at the 9:21 mark of the final frame, scoring from
Nick Woodward (JR, Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque HS) and
Gunnar Goodmanson (SR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS).
• Koss capped the Auggie scoring with his first career multi-goal game, scoring from Hicks and
Lucas Niezelski (JR, Manchester, Conn./East Catholic HS) at the 15:32 mark, then scored an empty-net goal with five seconds left, assisted by
Matt Nehls (SR, Boulder, Colo./D.C. West HS).
• Making the third start of his college career and seventh game appearance in goal,
Jon Albers (SR, Blaine, Minn./Centennial HS) stopped 16 of the 18 shots he faced for his first collegiate victory.
• Augsburg held a 43-18 advantage in shots on-goal.

• Augsburg has scored five or more goals in each of its three victories to start the season. The Auggies have now outscored their opponents by an 18-4 margin. Augsburg's 6.00 goals per-game average is tied for second-most
