Cobbers rally for 4-2 win over Auggies

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Augsburg University took a 2-1 lead into the third period, but Concordia College-Moorhead rallied with three goals in the final stanza, scoring a 4-2 home victory in a nonconference women's hockey game on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Carleigh Drill (SO, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) gave the Auggies the lead with a goal 7:51 into the game, her first collegiate goal, assisted by McKenna Ellena (SR, Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS).
• After Concordia tied the game late in the first period, the Auggies took the lead back 4:13 into the second period, as Lilia Scheid (JR, Stillwater, Minn./Middleton (Wis.) HS) scored from Payton Allen (SO, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) and Ellena. With her two assists, Ellena now has a team-high eight points (five goals, three assists).
• Concordia scored at the 1:50, 9:05 and 19:43 marks of the third period to score the come-from-behind victory.
• Augsburg held a 32-16 shots-on-goal advantage in the game. Katie Flynn (SO, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) had five shots on-goal, while Scheid and Jenna Gerold (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) had four shots each.
• Chloe Stockinger (FY, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had 12 saves in goal for the Auggies.

FOR THE FOES
• Kiana Flaig had 30 saves in goal for Concordia.
• Kaitlyn Page, Jerica Friese, Maiah McCowan and Libby Hinrichs scored the Cobbers' goals.
