MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University softball team suffered a nonconference sweep at the hands of Saint Mary's University on Sunday afternoon, falling 10-5 and 6-0.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg took an early 1-0 lead, but Saint Mary's responded with two runs in the fourth inning. The Cardinals then sent 12 batters to the plate and scored seven runs in the fifth.Â

Katie Manecke (FY, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) reached on a walk, moved up on a single and groundout, then scored on a wild pitch.

Sabriya Passmore (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) hit a run-scoring triple, whileÂ
Olivia O'Connor (FY, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS hit an RBI single. Passmore then hit a two-run double in the sixth inning.
• Passmore went 4-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored, while Manecke scored three runs, reaching base on a single and two walks.
• Passmore started in the pitching circle, striking out one against two walks and seven hits in four innings of work.Â
Bella Kallas (SR, Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake HS) had two strikeouts against two walks and six hits in relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg was limited to just four hits -- singles by Manecke,Â
Mackenzie Evenson (SR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS),
Sara Deming (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) and Kallas -- in the second game. The Auggies stranded six runners on base in the game.
• O'Connor pitched a complete game for the Auggies, striking out six against six walks and seven hits.
FOR THE FOES
• In the first game, Mackenzie Carey went 4-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored, while Amber Chow had two hits and drove in two runs. Paige Gudmonson also went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
• Chow pitched a complete-game win in the second game, striking out five while walking one. Hallie Schmeling weng 2-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBI, scoring a run, while Jordan Meyers went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
