MOORHEAD, Minn. -- In its first game since Nov. 14, 2019, the Augsburg University volleyball team was efficient in a three-set sweep of Concordia College-Moorhead in its first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match of the season on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Augsburg was dominant in its first match of the year, outhitting the Cobbers .258 to .081 and collecting seven blocks to the Cobbers' one.
• Maddie Nierengarten (SR, Foley, Minn./Princeton HS) earned a double-double, finishing with 10 kills and 15 digs, while hitting at a .474 clip. She also had two assists and a block assist.
• Kayla Gjerde (JR, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) led the Auggies with 16 digs, adding nine kills, two assists and a solo block. Katie O'Rourke (SO, Columbia Heights, Minn./Irondale HS) collected 11 digs. 
• Setters Izzy Barr (JR, River Falls, Wis./River Falls HS) and Lexie Lang (JR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS), split time in the rotation. Barr finished with 18 assists, four digs and two service aces. Lang had 15 assists, eight digs, two kills and two aces. 
• In her collegiate debut, Mikayla Coops (FY, Belle Plaine, Minn./Belle Plaine HS) tallied nine digs, eight kills, two assists and a service ace. Corrina Evans (SR, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) had seven kills for the Auggies, hitting .500. 
• Jade Fullerton (JR, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) collected six kills, four digs and four blocks (one solo). Jade Boysen (JR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) finished with five kills, three digs and three blocks (one solo). 

FOR THE FOES
• Bailey Gronner and Brook Carney each had seven kills for the Cobbers. 
• Jill Klaphake had a team-high 13 assists, while Chloe Markovic lead the Cobbers with eleven digs.
