MINNEAPOLIS -- McKenna Ellena (SR, Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) scored a power-play goal for Augsburg University to tie the game at 1-1, but Saint Mary's University scored the eventual game-winning goal early in the third period, as the Cardinals scored a 2-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey win on Thursday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Ellena scored her third goal of the season at the end of a power play at the 14:03 mark of the second period, assisted by Payton Allen (SO, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS). 
• Augsburg outshot Saint Mary's by a 35-16 margin, including a 13-3 advantage in the second period and a 14-7 advantage in the third period. But Saint Mary's goalie Ary Ziakas collected 34 saves to claim the victory.
• Mara McClain (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) had 14 saves in goal for the Auggies.
• Ellena and Jenna Gerold (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) had six shots on-goal each for Augsburg, while Kensie Malone (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Gentry Academy HS) and Lanie Lobdell (SR, Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley HS) had four shots each.

• Kennedy Kraus scored from Rose Kraus at the 1:58 mark of the second period for Saint Mary's.
• Kaley Manglitz scored the eventual game-winning goal, an unassisted marker at the 4:48 mark of the third period.
