BLAINE, Minn. -- Behind goals from McKenna Ellena (SR, Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) and Jenna Gerold (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS), the Augsburg University women's hockey team claimed a 2-2, overtime tie at Bethel University in a nonconference game on Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg took the lead at the 7:56 mark of the first period, as Ellena scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season, assisted by Kensie Malone (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Gentry Academy HS).
• The Royals tied the game with a second-period goal, but Augsburg took the lead again at the 9:22 mark of the third period, as Gerold scored her third goal of the season, assisted by Sydney Rydel (FY, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS). 
• Bethel tied the game again with a goal with 2:58 left in regulation time. Augsburg outshot Bethel by a 7-3 margin in the 3-on-3 overtime period.
• The Auggies claimed a 41-22 advantage in shots on-goal, including a 25-12 advantage in the final two periods of regulation. Mara McClain (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) had 20 saves in goal for Augsburg.
• Malone had six shots on-goal for the Auggies, while Gerold and Kalli Prekker (SR, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) had five shots each.

FOR THE FOES
• Alex Belde scored a shorthanded goal for Bethel in the second period, and Bri Stafne scored the game-tying goal in the third period.
• Mallory Tidona had 39 saves in goal for the Royals.
