MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University softball team fell victim to a 28-hit St. Catherine University outburst on Saturday afternoon, as the Wildcats scored a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader sweep over the Auggies on Saturday afternoon.
THE BASICS
SCORES: St. Catherine 9, Augsburg 1 (5 inn.); St. Catherine 11, Augsburg 3

RECORD: Augsburg 3-13 overall (0-4 MIAC), St. Catherine 8-6 overall (3-1 MIAC).
GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• The Wildcats scored on a three-run homer in the first inning, then added six runs in the second inning, sending 10 batters to the plate and collecting seven hits.
• Augsburg scored its lone run in the bottom of the first, as leadoff hitter
Katie Manecke (FY, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) reached base on a walk, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and to third on a passed ball, then scored on an RBI single by
Mackenzie Evenson (SR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS).
• Evenson had two of Augsburg's five hits in the first game.

Sabriya Passmore (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) took the pitching loss, striking out two in 1.2 innings of work.
Bella Kallas (SR, Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake HS) pitched 3.1 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one hit among 11 batters faced.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• St. Catherine built a 7-0 lead after four-and-a-half innings before Augsburg was able to score, plating two runs in the fifth and a run in the sixth.

Olivia Dynneson (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) led off the Auggies fifth inning with a single and scored on an RBI double by Kallas, who later scored following a throwing error on a pickoff attempt.

Chloe Stockinger (FY, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) scored from first base on an
Olivia O'Connor (FY, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) double in the sixth inning.
• Passmore went 3-for-4 in the second game.
• O'Connor had a strikeout against a walk in 4.2 innings of work in the pitching circle, while Kallas again pitched in relief, going 2.1 innings.
FOR THE FOES
• Angela Huepfel went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer, a double, two runs scored and five RBI in the first game, while she went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a double in the second game. Lindsay Burr went 4-for-4 with three runs scored in the second game.
• Kathryn Proper and Annabelle Schutte picked up pitching wins for the Wildcats.
